Frequently Asked Questions
Anchored Biblical Counseling
Christ-Centered Counseling & Guided Prayer
Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions we receive about counseling, services, fees, and our counselors’ qualifications.
Where are you located
We serve individuals throughout the East and West Valley of the Phoenix metro area, including Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley, and Phoenix. In-person sessions are available in Gilbert, Mesa, or Scottsdale.
For those outside the Valley—or who prefer greater flexibility—we offer telehealth sessions and currently serve individuals throughout the United States.
Do you take insurance?
No, we do not work directly with insurance providers or accept insurance.
Most insurance companies only cover treatment delivered by state-licensed mental health professionals. Because Anchored Biblical Counseling offers biblical, pastoral, and spiritual care—rather than clinical mental health treatment—we are not eligible for insurance reimbursement.
We choose this model intentionally because it allows us to:
-
Keep Christ, Scripture, and prayer at the center of the counseling process
-
Provide soul care that is pastoral, relational, and Spirit-led
-
Serve families and churches without the constraints of medical diagnosis codes
-
Maintain full confidentiality within a Christian ministry context
If the cost of counseling creates a real financial barrier, we encourage you to:
-
Reach out to your church for scholarship assistance
-

-
Let us know—we want to help you receive care

Are your counselors licensed therapist?
Our counselors are highly trained and certified in biblical counseling and spiritual care, but they are not licensed mental health clinicians. We provide Christ-centered care that includes biblical counseling, pastoral care, and guided prayer. Our approach integrates trauma-informed emotional and spiritual support while equipping individuals, couples, and families with practical tools for growth, healthy relationships, and Christ-centered living. Above all, we seek to create a safe, compassionate environment where you can process honestly, heal deeply, and experience the peace and presence of Jesus Christ.
Because our work is pastoral and Scripture-based, we do not offer mental health diagnoses, medication management, psychological testing, court-ordered therapy, or clinical treatment required by insurance companies. This allows us to walk with you spiritually, emotionally, and relationally without the limitations of medical or diagnostic protocols.
When additional care is beneficial, we gladly collaborate with pastors, licensed therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, and medical professionals to ensure you receive the full spectrum of support you may need. We believe God works through both pastoral and clinical resources, and we are committed to offering our part with excellence, compassion, and integrity.
Do you offer emergency or crisis services?
No. Anchored Biblical Counseling Center does not provide emergency or crisis intervention. If you or someone you love is in danger, please call 911, visit the nearest ER, or contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
