Equipping Christ-Centered Counselors for the Care of Souls
At Anchored Biblical Counseling, we believe the Church needs wise, compassionate, theologically grounded caregivers who can walk with hurting people in the power of the Gospel. That’s why we are developing a comprehensive, Lutheran based, Biblical Counseling Certification program—a training pathway that integrates robust Scripture-based theology, emotional health, trauma awareness, and Spirit-led care.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
– 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (ESV)
This certification will equip believers to serve confidently in their homes, churches, and communities through a model that is:
-
Deeply rooted in Scripture
-
Centered on Christ as the true Healer
-
Informed by modern insights into trauma and emotional health
-
Shaped by prayer, discipleship, and spiritual maturity
-
Practical, relational, and grounded in real-life counseling skills
The program is currently under development as part of a multi-year Doctor of Ministry research project. Full curriculum release is anticipated in 2027, with opportunities to join interest lists and preview materials as they become available. If you feel called to care for souls, walk with the hurting, or serve your church more deeply, this certification will help equip you with the biblical, theological, and relational tools you need.
This is more than training. It is formation – equipping the saints for the care of souls. A journey of becoming a counselor shaped by Christ, for the sake of His people. “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” – Galatians 6:2
