Counseling Services Agreement, Disclaimer & Privacy Policy
By accessing this website and participating in counseling services offered through Anchored Biblical Counseling, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. Nature of Counseling Services

Anchored Biblical Counseling provides faith-based, biblical counseling and spiritual guidance. Our counselors are trained Christian lay counselors and spiritual care providers. They are not licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, medical doctors, or clinical mental health professionals, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Counseling sessions are pastoral and discipleship-oriented, grounded in Scripture, prayer, and Christian spiritual care.

2. Not Medical or Clinical Care
​
Anchored Biblical Counseling does not provide:

Medical advice
-
Psychological diagnosis
-
Mental health treatment
-
Therapy regulated by the state

Medication prescriptions

Our services are not a substitute for licensed professional counseling, psychiatric care, or medical treatment.
​
If you are under the care of a physician or mental health provider, you are encouraged to remain under their supervision.
​
3. Personal Responsibility
​
By participating, you acknowledge that:

You are voluntarily seeking spiritual/biblical counsel.

You are fully responsible for your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Decisions made as a result of counseling are your own responsibility.

4. Release of Liability
​
You agree to release, waive, and hold harmless Anchored Biblical Counseling and all counselors, staff, and affiliates from any legal claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising from participation in counseling services.

Participation is voluntary and undertaken at your own discretion and responsibility.
​
5. Emergencies & Crisis Care
​
Anchored Biblical Counseling does not provide crisis intervention or emergency mental health services.
If you are experiencing:

Suicidal thoughts
-
Harm to yourself or others
-
A mental health emergency
​
Call 911 or contact a licensed crisis provider immediately.
​
6. Confidentiality & Its Limits
​
We highly value confidentiality and will not share your information except when legally or ethically required, including:

Threat of harm to self or others

Suspected abuse or neglect of a child or at risk adult

Court-ordered disclosure
​
Counselors may seek supervisory guidance while maintaining anonymity for training and accountability purposes.

7. Privacy Policy – Information We Collect

We may collect:

Name, email, phone number

Intake information voluntarily submitted

Appointment and session records
​
This information is used solely for scheduling, communication, and providing counseling services. We do not sell or distribute personal data.
​
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect submitted information; however, electronic communication is never 100% secure.
​
8. Voluntary Participation & Spiritual Scope
​
Biblical counseling involves spiritual guidance and prayer-based support. Outcomes vary and are not guaranteed. Participation indicates agreement that counseling is religious in nature.

9. Fees & Responsibility
​
All payments are for time and spiritual guidance provided, not for medical or psychological treatment. Fees are non-refundable once services are rendered.

10. Agreement​
​
By scheduling a session with your counselor and/or participating in counseling through Anchored Biblical Counseling, you acknowledge and agree that you:

Understand the spiritual and non-clinical nature of services

Accept personal responsibility for your care

Release Anchored Biblical Counseling from liability
-
Agree to confidentiality limitations
-
Acknowledge this is not emergency or medical treatment
-
Agree to submit session payments directly to your counselor using the payment method they provide at least 10 minutes prior to each session

Understand that cancellations require 24 hours’ notice and that late cancellations (under 24 hours) will be charged 50% of the fee
-
Understand that failure to attend a scheduled session without notice (“no-show”) will result in a 100% session charge
